iPhone 7 battery

Hi, 

Anyone know if a 3 year old iPhone 7 battery with reduced maximum capacity of 74% in last week (81% for last 8 months) can cause safari and a few apps to crash?

Asking because I’m unsure if I buy an  Apple battery replacement( will that address the reduced performance since 74%) or look for a new phone. 

Anyone help me out please? 

I’ve searched the web but no solid replies. 

All information greatly appreciated.

What version of iOS are you using?

iOS used to automatically throttle performance as the battery ages to stop/reduce crashes however I believe this became optional (default on) in later versions and so if you've turned it off then it can crash due to the battery not being able to provide the required power however turning it on should mainly resolve that.

That said, going into Battery->Battery Health on my iPhone it talks about peak performance but there is no toggle... that said my battery health is 100% and so maybe the toggle only appears after the health has dropped to where it becomes an issue.

Personally noted short battery life long before the battery caused instability on previous devices.

New Apple battery has rectified the performance issues so I’m happy at present.

I had issues with battery on my previous iPhone s e this year. 

Apple support were very helpful , and they tried to help me with my battery
As my phone was 3+ years old, and the cost of new battery ( plus the almost weekly updates) I decided to get the later s e model.  

Horses for courses . If it wasn't the constant updates, then I'd have just kept the previous iPhone . But life's not like that ..
