Take myself too seriously

I tend to take myself too seriously and I am trying to address this by becoming more playful.  I came across this recently: https://theflirtmethod.com/

There are lots of free videos on You Tube by this author.  My main concern is that you have to buy directly from the author i.e. on their website instead of using a known platform like Udemy.

Are there any good alternatives that could help me - particularly if they are on Udemy? Has anyone ever actually bought this and if so what do you think?

  • Possibly the producer is a moneysaving expert, who doesn't want to lose revenue to a platform fee charged by known platforms like Udemy (which takes 63% the price, after any deductions if purchases are made through appstore / playstore on mobile phones) and therefore prefers to sell direct.

Surely this sort of moneysaving ethos should be embraced and encouraged on this forum?  More to the point, if it was on Udemy it would probably cost three times as much to make up for the platform fee.

Just looking at that website for even 5 seconds i don't know why anyone would buy that book. It looks so tacky and i really don't think it will help you at all.
  • I hate seeing this kind of material for sale; it preys on vulnerable, under-confident people and offers really dodgy advice. In fact anything that talks about "all women" or "all men" can safely be consigned to the bin; people are just not that simple. Just supposing for a moment that your initial moves work, and 'she' responds positively to you, no matter what 'type of girl' she is... that still leaves you being yourself and it's impossible for anyone to maintain an act indefinitely.

If you want to be a bit more playful, try something like drama workshops or anything else which takes you out of your comfort zone and enables you to laugh at yourself. If you don't feel confident just as you are, try counselling to build up your self-esteem.

But please don't waste any more time, money or energy on this sort of hogwash!
