Hi all,
Due to be going for a short trip to Portugal on 30th NOV and I saw a few news articles today saying that negative tests to enter have been brought back in yesterday.
The FCDO site doesn't show this as a requirement, they only show proof of vaccination being required which we have. I'm just wanting a bit of forum advice if anyone knows if tests are required again or it is just news articles speculating...

Restrictions have been brought back in in Portugal, including PCR/antigen tests before travelling there:

That was one of the Articles I had seen but the FCO website doesn't seem to have been updated to reflect that. Maybe that is because it doesn't come into effect until 1st Dec? I'll be flying on 30th Nov so I'm assuming the current rules apply until the 1st.whirlyhead said:Restrictions have been brought back in in Portugal, including PCR/antigen tests before travelling there:

Can I use antigen test "fit to fly" - £30 home kit self administered test for portugal entry? or does it has to be administered by someone else? i.e. I have to do it in airport or other sites?whirlyhead said:Restrictions have been brought back in in Portugal, including PCR/antigen tests before travelling there:

We went to Portugal in October when a predeparture test was required. Shortly after they lifted the requirement for a test but it has now been reintroduced.ForexRay said:

We used this one - dead simple and quick and on the 'approved' list.

TOTAL CHAOS at FARO AIRPORT - Lateral flow tests for entry to Portugal
My daughter has flown tonight with Ryanair to Faro. She followed Gov.uk website for advice on tests required before entering Portugal. Then followed link to Portuguese Government website which stated that Lateral flow test was required.(No mention that home tests were not allowed). Government approved test company Randox was also recommended by Ryanair so she and her partner bought a Randox fit to fly test which they did at home. On arrival at Faro they were told that they did not accept home test and would have to pay 25euros for another LFT to be done at airport. They did this test and got a negative result but were then forced by Border control to sign a document stating that they entered Portugal without providing evidence of a test and that they were liable to pay a fine of between 300 to 800 euros! They have been delayed more than 3 hours and my daughter is very upset that they have had to sign a document which is not true! Many passengers were refusing to sign and demanding to speak to a representative from the British Embassy. They were told that they should have followed EU requirements for entry not Gov.UK link to Portuguese government website. Border control were blaming Ryanair for not informing passengers of regulations. Horrible start to holiday!0
