LV Home Insurance

Hello,

My home insurance expires on 28th November, I've just sorted out next years policy with another company but have just visited my account on LV and it states that the policy has already been auto-renewed and it says "You can cancel your home insurance renewal or change how you pay online up to 4 working days before your cover is due to end"

It's too late to call them now but will ring them first thing in the morning - but where do I legally stand on this, can someone advise please?

Thank you.

My guess, remembering that LV general insurance was sold a little while back, is that the website isnt plumbed into their backend system (at the moment) and so the 4 working days is to give them time to process the request manually. If you phone them then I'd strongly suspect you can advise you dont want to renew up until the day before. A more cynical person would say its to give them time to contact you and convince you to stay.

There is no requirement for them to offer the ability to opt out of renewal online.

Thank you, I hope so! £60 saving is one I do not one to pass up.
