Hi

i have ordered a day 2 test (lft) but want to know what would happen if it doesn’t arrive on time. What should I do? Order a new one? If so, Then the plf will have a ref number and my new test will have a different ref number.

Theres nobody answering those questions from the gov website and is impossible to contact them on the phone

thanks

  • Ask the provider to resend it, dont pay for another.
  • Ok, but what if on day 2 I have not had the test done? Am I going to receive a penalty? Can I leave my house?
  • Of course you can leave your house, you can also leave it on Day 1 and Day 0, if someone has told you that you cant leave your house until you have done the test you have been misinformed.

You are dealing in "what ifs" here. If it doesnt arrive, ask them to resend it. If it still doesnt get to you, contact 119 and tell them the situation.
  • Thanks. Also, would I receive a penalty if I fail to have my day2 test on time? It’s not my fault but it’s my responsibility
  • I havent heard a single case of anyone being fined for not doing a day 2 test. In any case if you make every available effort to do one, which involves a) chasing up with the supplier, and then b) resorting to contacting 119 to ask for one, they would be on shaky ground dishing one out.

I also have the test from a friend that he didn’t use. Worst case scenario I can use it. At the end of the day the important thing is having the test done

Get yourself an NHS lateral flow test as a standby then if there are any issues, you will have peace of mind that you are tested and clear.
Then take a photo of it for further peace of (your) mind in case someone 'official' asks you ... not that I've heard of anyone that does!
