@wild666 Have you analysed how much each of the things you turn off is saving you?
It may be that 90% of the things you turn off make virtually no difference, and are being exposed to extra power cycles, but a few are the real big drains.

It's not the difference it makes over a day or week but the longer term. I was out most of Saturday and most of my usage was between 07:00 and 15:15 it was only 1.95 kWh but as I got in drunk at 20:10 and the daughter put me to bed she left the light and heating on so it wasn't cold and that put the electric usage up to 4 kWh when I got up at 09:00 although the smart meter reading sent in 30 minute segments on Sunday for Saturday showed the reading as 3.259 kWh.

I have analysed how much the total usage but not each individual appliance uses and my average weekly usage is around 26.8  kWh or 3.82 kWh daily which is about 1400 kWh per year, around 800 kWh less than the 2200 kWh when I just put everything in standby, my monthly usage is down from 184 kWh to just over 118 kWh per month.

I did do a usage check on my 32" desktop monitor when I first got it and in standby it was consuming 48 W per hour a lot more than it stated in the manual.

That's crazy! What does it use when it's actually on?

I don't know because it's plugged into a 10 gang surge protector and that set up uses around 1.5 to 2.1 kWh in the time it's used between 03:00 and 13:45 before I drop into bed to watch Netflix on another Desktop. The whole set-up uses around 191 Watts per hour or 1 kWh in just over 5 hours.
