Wrong size bed delivered

I bought a reinforced divan base online in October last year. This week I had a replacement delivered, because the bed had some minor damage and the bed company offered to replace it as it was under warranty. They also took the old bed away.
My son and I spent some time putting it together and it was only when we went to attach the headboard that we realised that it was not a double, but a small double (6 inches narrower). I immediately contacted the courier who had delivered it, in the hopes that they could return and bring my old bed back until we could get the correct one delivered. I received no response by telephone and text. I then contacted the bed company, who tried to contact the courier and again had no success. I spoke to them again about an hour later and they said it would be 2-3 weeks before they could send the replacement because they only come up to Scotland once they have enough orders to fill the van. I haven't heard from them since.
My partner and I are now sleeping on a double mattress perched on top of a small double divan. I'm concerned about damage to the mattress. I'm very dissatisfied but do I have any case for compensation or redress, other than waiting for the correct bed to be delivered?

You have the right to the correct bed being delivered, once that's done what loss do you think you should be compensated for?Fuzzycat93 said:I bought a reinforced divan base online in October last year. What financial losses have you suffered as a consequence?Fuzzycat93 said:

You should also be concerned about damage to the divan. You have a duty of care to look after it until they can collect it.Fuzzycat93 said:

Dismantle the bed, which you shouldn't use anyway, and put the mattress on the floor. That avoids risk of damage to the bed or mattress.

The loss of a useable bed, since they took the double away and delivered a small double, which is too small for two people to sleep comfortably, does not fit with the mattress and is not what was ordered?DB1904 said:

My partner and I both have disabilities, so sleeping on the mattress on the floor is not really viable.TELLIT01 said:Dismantle the bed, which you shouldn't use anyway, and put the mattress on the floor. That avoids risk of damage to the bed or mattress.0 -
Update: I'm happy to report that on contacting the bed company, they were very apologetic and allowed us to use the (wrong size) bed until they could get the correct one to us. They also offered free assembly of the new replacement bed once it arrived and a £30 refund for the inconvenience. We now have the correct size bed!8
