Fire TV stick

Bought a fire TV stick to use in a TV with no Ariel connection, can I watch live TV through the stick?
I have a TV license and an Iplayer account.

    The iPlayer app should be easy to find and download, so that part is solved. Likewise for the catch-up apps for ITV, C4 etc.

    Take a look on the Amazon App store for TVPlayer app or similar - there should be a live streaming app for UK TV. Or ... you could add the Google Play store to your Fire stick which would let you install almost any Play store app (as there's a wider choice vs the Amazon App store).

    You can use the Watch Live option of any service that has it and whose app you load onto the stick. So iPlayer, ITVHub, All4, whatever the 5 one is called are free. Now TV has live channels but needs subs. There are others.

    I really thought most of the apps for channels 1,2,3,4 and 5 would have been ready installed.
    Am I right in thinking they will be in the app store on the stick?
