Linking amazon fire stick to alexa

Hi all I'm trying to link my fire stick to my alexa. I've followed the instructions but still can't get it to connect. I've done the following
Link Your Fire TV and Alexa Device
- Open the Alexa app .
- Open More and select Settings .
- Select TV & Video.
- Select Fire TV.
- Select Link Your Alexa Device and follow the on-screen instructions. When I get to number 4 it just says can't find a device to link. I've made sure they are the same account and WiFi. If anyone could through some light on what I'm doing wrong it would be really appreciated.

I haven't linked my Fire stick (as my Alexa device is in a different room, and my stick has the voice control remote anyway) but I've just followed the instructions you posted and I can see my stick after following step 5 🤷♀️Jenni x0
