Can I expect some decent credit limit from NewDay?
All my cards have limits ranging from £5k to £10k, so if the Amazon card comes with lousy £1500 limit, I don't want it. It will only look like a subprime card on my files.

Personally when I applied I did their eligibility check, and after being told that I am eligible (soft search) I closed down the page and I waited for an email from them which came in about 30 min informing me of the APR and credit limit I’d get if I were to do a full application.
  • No lender is going to know, or care, whether you have a 'sub prime card; only how you have handled the account. So no need to fret about that.

The amazon card is great. I moved most of my monthly spending to it (unless there is a better option) and get £10 a month in an amazon voucher. It's got a reasonable limit, unlike my OH's aqua one which they never incresed (they incresed mine so who knows? sexism, she's should be much more regasrded than me but then she mostly did not use it, whereas I ran it up to limit and paid in full (which you would also think they would not like). I have also never paid a penny interest to them.

card looks no different on your credit file to amex
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Will admit i only took to get the £40 from Amazon.

Was given a £10,000 credit limit.

Spending the card elsewhere (not on Amazon) you need to spend £2000 to get a £10 voucher. 0.5 points for every £2 you spend, 1000 points is a £10 Amazon voucher.

I will possibly take advantage of the 3 months 0% spending and then cancel OR I may cancel as soon as it arrives.

  • I got one last year, I liked the bung as I was buying a new laptop.

No impact at all on the fictitious numbers generated by the CRAs for me.

Have just purchased a new phone with the 3 months 0% plan.
