Floss hope your feeling better (was the wine worth it!!)
Thanks Jet, am feeling a little less _pale_ ...the upsetting news I had that started the need for red wine is still with me though...found out that a cousin has died - in September, and none of his family told any of my family. We've found out from an aunt on dad's side, purely by accident. I can only guess that when my mum died in 2005, his dad thought the family link had gone, as his wife (mum's only sister) died years ago.

We have to pay for our own....local government, can't be seen to be spending council-tax-payers money etc etc

Well as a standard the company does, but if you have a sensible head of department like I do, he asks and they say yes! Staff that live locally are getting free taxis home and those that live further away are staying in the hotel.Current debt - £16,300

Afternoon all

Been in town all morning .... spending again
Bought perfume for brothers gf (but from my mum so no personal spend)
HMV voucher for brothers gf's son (from mum again - she owes me a fiver now coz she didn't give me enough cash  )
Then I went to boots.... and here is the naught bit ..... spent £39.40 on makeup

...... to get £73 worth of 'freebies'. I did need new makeup though. So here is what I got:
Max Factor foundation & powder = free gift set worth £40
No7 protect & perfect face stuff & nail varnish = free gift set worth £33
Max factor eyeshadow & eyeliner ... 2 for £10
I paid for the 2 for £10 deal with my advantage card points
The free gift stuff has loads of little bits in ... all of which I will actually use .... honest  I love buying make up
BUT ..... to make up for it (pardon the pun) I got a total bargain in Matalan!
Went to buy pants socks and a dressing gown for FIL. Got pants £5 socks £5, but didn't want to spend £16 on a dressing gown. Was just about to not bother when I saw one in a broken plastic gift bag type thing. It was £12 and his size. It was also a towelling one which he wanted. I get 10% off in there so it was much nearer my budget. Also got myself a little bag for Sat night (£2) and a stocking for DS2 (£6).
Got to till and with my 10% off it came to £18.90 ..... a little cheap I thought. Got to the car and looked at the receipt and the dressing gown had come up at £3  :rotfl: So with my 10% off which I shouldn't have had on the sale item anyway (but neither me or the sale assistant new it was a sale item because it wasn't marked) the dressing gown has cost me the grand total of £2.70 :rotfl: That is cheap, even by Matalan's standards.
Also went to debenhams and got a little gold sparkly shrug to wear on Sat. Was £18 but had £12 nectar points on my card to only cost me £6 :T
Also spent £30 getting my mum & dad a voucher which was the only thing I had actually budgeted for out of everything I spent today
Anyway, just paid £150 off the barclaycard and will clear the rest next week after my night out this weekend, as I don't want to leave us short.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

we are having £8.83 per head towards our christmas party..... an odd amount but nonetheless more than we have ever had before!!
It's quite difficult, some collegues said they would organise it, but surprise surprise it seems to be me getting everything booked. I'm just sad, as I feel that the under agers who work in our cafe are going to miss out on their fair share of the fun!
It is soooo cold today up here, last night we had a late event on, and when I went to collect the glasses left outside they were covered in frost!! Brrrrrrrr.LBM : August 2007my debts: less than this time last year....!DFW Nerd Club #706I'm Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts
