Unblocking a mobile phone

Options
2 years ago I had my EE phone stolen, it was blocked and I received a new phone. Recently my old phone was returned to me, along with my handbag it was in. I have been trying for 2 days to get hold of EE to unblock the phone. All that happens is they ask for my number which I ported to a new phone on a different network, so it comes up as not known. Please how do I get the phone unblocked? The phone was a Huawei 9 smart phone.

It is likely that your old phone was blacklisted as it was stolen.
You may contact EE to see if they have solutions.

You need to give them the IMEI number of the phone, not the phone number it was used on.

It's either under the battery (if the battery comes out) or type *#06 on the dialer and it should come up.

If you were given a new phone to replace the lost one then the odds are they won't remove the blacklisting as the old phone would now belong to the insurance company that provided the new handset...
  • I had to buy a new phone and also pay off the remainder of the contract. No insurance involved.  Have been trying to get hold of EE for two days.........guess I am going to have to give up.

    This form may help?

    Unlock Device: Device Type (ee.co.uk)

It really is for a device locked to its network so you can use it on another network, but it may be worth a try. EE won't normally remove a blacklist, the exception being if the original owner asks them to
