Hi all
Nothing exciting happening ….this could well become my mantra.
Exciting amazon delivery arriving of some bulbs for my bedside lamp though. Its connected to one of the Alexa plugs so I can turn it on downstairs before I face the stairs. Sadly Alexa doesn’t fix blown bulbs so its out of action till my ultra reliable delivery man shows up.
I have a cleaner coming today after realising there is a list of jobs I will not be able to manage for a while like duvet changing, hoovering, window cleaning and the list goes on. Fortunately my lawn mower man has finished up til March so I can shuffle some funds and have a cleaner for a while.
Major success yesterday I braved the shower all on my lonesome. I was very careful and even managed to wash my hair. Felt so good and gave me the confidence to do it regularly now… bowl washing just doesn’t hack it.
Food will be something involving prawns not sure what yet but last nights cockle and prawn cocktail was so good it may be a rinse and repeat. DP1 You’re right there was never fish of any edible form on the menu apart from some awful breaded stuff on a Friday which was literally grey and bought from a very cheap source. After trying a couple of times I opted for the chips and mushy peas and some bread and made chip butties with peas. No salt vinegar or ketchup and margarine on the bread though so still pretty bland. Fish will be featuring lots now along with my favourite liver. What wont be featuring is beef stew….a tasteless regular or oily gravy! I know some of the celebrity chefs including my hubby James have tried and failed to improve it but I guess with such a low budget it’s a thankless task. I bet some of our MSE peeps could do it though.
Have a good day all and hugs to DP1s DGD

Morning everyone
Thanks so much for all the good wishes for little one. I feel I can get things off my chest a bit on here and it really helps. She seems fine again now, though DD is finding it harder than usual to sleep in case it happens again. I think she's coming up for a little while when I get home from work this afternoon.
Still having problems with my blocked ear - I think the antibiotic drops must have sorted the infection as it's no longer sore to touch but it buzzes continually. I've been using drops but not really helping - I've just ordered an ear syringe thingy from Amazon which will come tomorrow so will see if that helps. I rang Specsavers to make an appointment for syringing, but was told I have to wait for 90 days after the infection clears up!
I wrapped a few Christmas presents yesterday, but discovered I had no bags big enough for them so will see if I can get some when I go for coffee with mam and dad this morning. I'm trying to do a few at a time as I really don't like having them all to do at once.
Snoozer - it's the same here - hardly anyone is wearing masks. DD in Germany says they are in 'almost' lockdown from tomorrow. If you haven't been vaccinated you can't go in shops, restaurants, bars - though I assume you can go food shopping! Where she works you must scan your card to get in the building - these cards were updated yesterday and linked somehow to your vaccination status - so if you try to go into work and haven't been vaccinated then you can't get in.
She's had her 2 jabs and says most at work have too - nurses went into work to do them.
Well I'd better get a shift on - hope you all have a good day x14 -

Morning, hugs if you need one. Its sunny but very cold, I don't think we have had a frost though.
Late getting up, I was too warm and comfortable, just did not want to get out and brave the cold!! Up to the PO shortly for the TV Choice, the holiday one will be coming out shortly, so we can see whats not interesting on the box. I have to admit we did watch Mary Poppins at the weekend.
B was in good form yesterday, she is looking much better. Her Grand daughter from South Africa is coming this weekend for 2 weeks. She is spending part of the time with B and the rest with an Aunt in Mansfield. I managed Sainsbury and Aldi yesterday.
DB tells me he is going to Evergreens next week as well, they finish on 13th December for the holiday. so he will be coming with me to see B.
Feeling a bit like a spare part at the laundry just now, do not seems to be able to settle to anything.......
Belly pork out to make a casserole for supper tonight. will prep the veggies at the same time, carrots and brussels I think. Also going to do a rice pudding, it will last us 2 days.11 -
Moring all. Had the fire on all day yesterday, have now got the hang of burning the current lot of wood slowly. I did order more in the end. I was expecting at least a week before it turned up, but no, could have done it today So I asked for tomorrow, OH won't be here and I was supposed to be doing something today but that got cancelled last night. Good job, I turned funny yesterday and felt my knee go pop, now it has an extra day to recover before I stack some wood...I don't know why I didn't ask them to come Friday when OH would have been here. I just got flustered...Never mind, I can always chuck a tarp over it if I can't manage.Ate the last of the pie last night along with Jamie Olivers shredded sprouts and bacon - verdict from OH, delicious, one more recipe added to the repertoire. Sounds weird, but considering what it was made of, it almost tasted like a roast dinner [the sprouts that is] Tonight I'll be dining alone so a freezer dive is in order, trying to empty that before next April or May. I steamed the kitchen floor last night and wanted to use a selant on it [quarry tiles] but the wonderful cats, who had been quietly sleeping allnice and peacefully, decided to choose that time to go nuts and start running round. So I must bide my time today to do it. It just involves totally ignoring the instructions and putting it on with a sponge and hope it dries quickly.Prepareathome, weird because my OH would also survive on cereal if I wasn't here. He won't eat beans because of the texture either, of any sort. And he is a bit Aspie [ am I allowed to say that? That's what he calls himself so...] Maddie, glad your DDog is better...DP1,be careful with home syringing, I've heard some horror stories from a nurse friend...Wrap yourselves up warm today and chocolate and marshmalow it up...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Afternoon - I'm back from my Glasgow trip already. The procedure took less than five minutes and I headed straight up the road. There were so many rainbows over the water and my cottage had a double one over it too.I've put some lasagna in the oven and will bring some more wood in whilst waiting for it to heat.Watch that knee Taff...12

good afternoon
So cold here today🥶, I've been out to have coffee ☕with a friend, had some lunch and am now in a queue trying to get a vaccine password.
Actually I need to get out into the garden to plant some bulbs and flowers my sister gave me whilst I was away, but am finding other things to do as it's soooo cold🥶🥶🥶🥶
Have as good a day as you can 🌻11 -
Afternoon all,I've just finished my hm chicken broth with one of those longlife rolls you heat up to get crispy. Made a new baby card this morning and then had a walk to post it off then came back and stamped the greeting in all the C cards I've made, not written any yet though TA , you're certainly ahead of me thereTea is a chicken breast stuffed with cream cheese and a slice of ham over, so pretty quick to do. I need to go and fold the washing that's now dried, and do my online delivery.A friend said she was coming to see me 1 afternoon this week- I said I was free Mon,Tues & Thursday but thought she'd let me know! As she's not here by now I'm guessing Thursday!Hugs to those in need and poorly dogs x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone 😀
I am in hospital being well looked after. I couldn’t get my breath last night, my temperature was over 40 and my sats were 51 so we called an ambulance. I am on oxygen therapy and a whole cocktail of drugs. Surprisingly I don’t feel too bad, just very tired. I will be in at least a week so I will post when I can but the Wi-Fi is very hit and miss. Take care all xxx12
