Buying a car remotely

Hello
can anyone advise/does anyone have any experience of using Cinch for buying a car? Never bought a car remotely before and a bit nervous about if.

Well, Rylan Clark seems to like them! And I like him, so I'd probably believe what he says.

Cinch says (on their site) "Faff-free returns policy. What happens if you get behind the wheel of your new car, but something just doesn’t feel quite right? No problem. Cinch Cars operate a 14-day, faff-free returns policy, entitling you to a full refund if you’re not completely happy with your purchase."

So there's that guarantee. They also say that they don't sell cars that are more than 7 years old or have more than 70,000 miles on the clock.

You'd also be covered by the Consumer Rights act 2015 if anything was wrong with the car.

However, having said all that, you say you are nervous about it, in which case I'd say if you're in doubt, don't do it.

All anyone else can say really is look at all the facts and figures and then decide what is best for you. Nobody else knows. And it's your money, not ours.

I prefer to buy my cars from a dealer nearer to home. I've not had any problems with any of the cars I've had from them but if I did I know I can just phone them and they'll collect it and fix it and return it (collection and return at no charge and sometimes repair at no charge either) (It's Toyota) When it's time for a change of motor they will bring it to my home, I can have a test drive and then they'll collect it. Similar to Cinch - only much better.

Cinch will be fine. They are part of the WBAC BCA  group.

Anything in top condition that WBAC buy in goes direct to Cinch for sale online.
Fixer uppers, starship milers and older cars go to BCA for auction to the trade.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

That's really interesting and very informative, thank you.
  • a friend of mine bought through them. very happy with the service. car was exactly as described. any minor marks or dinks are highlighted and shown on their web pics very clearly. also got a very good price for his part ex (certainly better than local dealers were offering) and the price paid for his 'new' car was lower as well.

Just to add my experience with Cinch.....

I recently got two weeks notice of a return to the office after two years working from home. Due to office relocation as well, I now have a commute each way and therefore needed to get a car quickly. Having little enthusiasm or time to trapes around showrooms and forecourts, I decided to look at Cinch. Found the car I wanted, ordered it and a few days later it was delivered to my house by literally one of the friendliest and politest people I have ever met in my life! Cinch kept me updated throughout the process and have had a couple of follow up calls to make sure everything is ok.

It was snowing the morning of the delivery and the car had gotten a little dirty during the 30 miles from the site where is was located so the guy had taken it for a another wash at the hand car wash down the road.

So far no issues at all with the car. Really pleased with the service
  • Thank you all. In the end we went to our local dealer
