in Credit cards
Hi all
My wife and I were househunting last weekend. The hotel we stayed in charged us 100 times (!!!) the agreed rate for our room. As a result, my wife's credit card has significantly exceeded its credit limit.
The hotel has said they will refund her, and the card provider has agreed not to charge her fees. We are however worried that this will negatively affect our credit score, and a potential mortgage we could well be applying for in the very near future. (We have otherwise very good credit histories and this is the first time either of us has exceeded their credit card limit).
How much impact on our credit score/mortgage application is this likely to have? And is there something we can do to avoid/contain any negative fallout from this?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ameciar

No fall out at all. The issue will be rectified and the matter consigned to history.3

As above, quickly and easily explained away should anything ever come up.
Honestly though, doubt it will even feature on any credit reports.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....1 -
