Seller won't return my item after being fixed under warranty

Hi, just after a bit of advice on what to do next with a problem I'm having with an ebay seller. In April I purchased a gaming pc bundle on eBay with a tower, monitor, keyboard etc for my son's birthday. It came with a one year warranty on hardware. In September it developed a problem, so we contacted the seller who advised us to send the tower back to them (at our own cost) so they could fix it. We sent it recorded and signed for and after a week of them having it we contacted them to ask how much longer it would take to fix and send back.
No response on the first message so we sent them another message which they replied to this time blaming eBay's messaging system and that it was fixed and would receive it back within the week. A week passed and we didn't receive the tower back. Multiple messages have been ignored and it's now been a month. We contacted eBay who aren't interested because it's outside of their six months claim period. We sent a letter before action stating we would take them to small claims court if we didn't receive our item back. They have received the letter and still no response from them so they have my original purchase price money and the tower. I'm just looking for advise on if there is anything else we could do before going to small claims court. We paid using PayPal. Thanks.

Carry through with your threat of small claims court.

You're out of time with eBay and PayPal, so you need to go to court I'm afraid.
