Hi All
Hoping someone can help please?
there will be 4 remaining roles in our new structure. (16 people currently at risk)
There will be a criteria selection process for the roles that are left.
I read somewhere a while back that a certain percentage of the job role should fit in with what you are doing now. Is this correct - and if so how much of the new role should match the new job role?
The thing is i don't want the job, and will not apply, but from last experience i scored highly and was given the job. Other people applied and were not successful.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no % just needs to be a suitable alternative.
You would have to put a case together of why the job is not suitable.

https://www.gov.uk/redundancy-your-rights/suitable-alternative-employment
"Your employer might offer you ‘suitable alternative employment’ within your organisation or an associated company.Whether a job is suitable depends on:how similar the work is to your current jobthe terms of the job being offeredyour skills, abilities and circumstances in relation to the jobthe pay (including benefits), status, hours and location
Your redundancy could be an unfair dismissal if your employer has suitable alternative employment and they do not offer it to you."
as getmore4less said there is no "fixed percentage" that automatically makes it unsuitable. In addition to the above your contract/T&Cs of employment/staff handbook may have something to say about redeployment0 -
