Reason of transferring money, or taking money out?

It's because in another topic, I asked a specifically evasive question but gave enough information for the answers to be within a specific limit (IE, so the topic didn't go way off). Two replies wanted specifics, so they could help in another way but that wasn't what I was looking for.robatwork said:

If I don't provide specifics to a question, don't ask for them in your answer.
When I want specific answers, I'll provide the information.
An example could be: "My computer broke the day after it arrived. How can I send it back?" And then people asking what operating system it was, how much RAM, storage, graphic card etc so they could help me fix it. I wasn't interested in a fix so saw no benefit in supplying that specific information. Got berated for not supplying information, even though I plainly said I wasn't interested in fixing it, just sending it back.
Got annoyed with people not reading the question and going off providing other solutions instead of actually answering what I asked.
Example: Q: Do you have any oranges? A: Apples are much better and cheaper, you can get them from buyapples.com <-- doesn't answer the question, tries to be helpful but is actually unhelpful.
Tagging @Shakin_Steve so they can also see the reason.3 -
I understand your point, believe me I do. But inserting a footer such as yours will have absolutely no effect, it could even have the opposite effect. People very seldom read or take notice of such things, or, when a footer sounds so indignant, go out of their way to annoy you.anotheruser said:

Tagging @Shakin_Steve so they can also see the reason.Every forum I have ever been on suffers from thread drift, with what appear to be irrelevant and, sometimes, imbecilic contributions. You also get members who post just because they can, often repeating previous posts. You can't stop it, just like you can't stop it happening in the real world.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.3 -

I frequently transfer money from Lloyds to my Monzo account and I have never had to explain why.MCNAV said:This may be in the wrong section, but here goes.
Everytime I transfer money, or take money out of my Lloyds account I am expecting them to ask "what is the reason for the transfer?", "why are you taking this money out?". Do I need to answer these questions?
I had my bank account blocked the other day, as I was transferring money to a Monzo account, which flagged as potential risk. When I called and told them to unblock my account, they insisted I answered where the money was going, and why it was being transfered out, I could then hear her typing notes of what I said.
Is this now normal policy for Lloyds Bank?
Just how much are you transferring when this happens? You say it is every time and I'm now a bit suspicious about what you are doing!

It will happen when you are setting up a new payment. If they are not requesting any information as to the how, where & why. I would not be happy.Neil49 said:

RBS require you to tick a choice as part of the payment transfer.
