Can I add a cordless phone?

My elderly parents have a corded landline, so that doesn’t need a power socket. They can’t grasp using a mobile so I want to add a cordless option, something they can move around the house with, without having to go to the corded location every time to answer the phone.
So I would need to locate the cordless phone near a convenient power socket. Can I just get a twin phone line connector and run a new extra phone cable to that location? Is it really that easy? Thanks for any advice.

So my parents currently have a ‘regular’ splitter for modem and phone. So I plug in a twin phone line splitter into the ‘Phone’ hole, as in the eBay item linked by cx6, yes? But will connecting an extra phone affect the broadband signal I wonder?
