Council House - Is there an upper income limit?

Has anyone been through the council housing allocation process for Lambeth?
Is there an upper limit of income to be allocated a property?
I'm a bit concerned they will look at our income and say we'll have to rent privately but we're really struggling financially and living with family at the moment
I've looked everywhere including the council website but can't find any guidance on it, I'd really appreciate hearing about anyone else's experience?
thanks

thanksApplicants considered to have sufficient financial resources or assets to buy a property in the Borough suitable for their household (either freehold or leasehold) or to rent a property in the Borough on the private market suitable for their household without the assistance of housing benefit.https://beta.lambeth.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2021-10/Housing_Allocation_Scheme_2013_v4.2.pdf With council housing in such short supply your best bet, although by no means guaranteed, is to try and move up to as high a banding as possible.1 -
Yes I think you're right @Pixie5740, thanks at least that confirms it is a consideration0

I got one after over 9 years waiting through neighbouring Greenwich council. I can confirm no upper income or savings limit.
You are just low priority. But when you get to the top of the list, as long as you have not purchased a property yet, you will be eligible.1
