Another 1&1 / Arvato thread

I had a call from my dad recently to say I had received a couple of letters delivered to his address. I’ve not lived at my dads for 18 years so this struck me as really odd.

My dad sent me the letters and I found that one of them was from 1&1 and the other was from Arvato. The 1&1 letter was saying that a web hosting account was being closed and the one from Arvato was chasing a payment for £77.39.

I’ve not used 1&1 in 20 years, as I have had my own web hosting server since 2007, so I was keen to figure out what this is about. I tried doing a ‘forgot password’ using the account number on the letter and it comes up with the following email which I’ve never even heard of “msa*******m70@bul****log.com”.

I’ve looked on 1&1 website and I cannot find an email address to contact and they seem to insist on phone calls, however I’ve no intention of phoning them.

Just wondering if this is something I can safely ignore or will ignoring it bite me in the backside later on?

Tempted to set up a gmail account and trying to email arvato.
