Cynergy bank Online Easy Access Account 0.70% AER

You don't need to download an app, you can use a PC if you wish.3

You could look at Investec online flexi saver paying 0.71% easy access. I've had one for a while and have found it excellent. An alternative would be Marcus at 0.6%, again excellent1

thanks everyone, have just opened an account with them.hugheskevi said:I'm very happy with them after joining them a few months ago. Key points to note:- Seemingly very good but not very intrusive account security
- Have to download an app, then each time you log on use it to read an on-screen code and generate a number to enter - a bit like a text message in terms of phaffing around, very straightforward once you have the app sorted which is straightforward.
- Very quick movements of money into and out of account - transfers usually showing within about 5 minutes or so.
- Good, simple, minimalist on-screen account display.

Cynergy is fine but you can get a lot more interest in several Regular Savings accounts which allow withdrawals or closure before maturity0

But not, it seems, more than once a year, for accounts open to the general public (ie no regional, existing customer, or age restrictions).Daliah said:Cynergy is fine but you can get a lot more interest in several Regular Savings accounts which allow withdrawals or closure before maturity1 -
None apart from RBS, Natwest, Nationwide, TSB, Lloyds, Virgin.......and potentially some others the person asking is entitled to, depending on where they live, and how old they areEthicsGradient said:

If there's only one free withdrawal per year, you can always close the account and move your money to one of the lower rate instant access accounts at the time.0 -
RBS - only for those already with an RBS current account. Nationwide - only for those already with a Nationwide current account. I'm not going to check the rest, but you get the point. This is why MSE doesn't list them.0

Regular Saver experts are looking on the link that I posted above, but the main MSE site does list the ones you mention, too. In any case, though, the person asking may already have an account there, or might be happy to open one, especially if one of the current switch offers can be used. If they haven't or aren't interested, that's no sweat, either. It's their decision, not ours.EthicsGradient said:RBS - only for those already with an RBS current account. If you want an RS with withdrawal before maturity without a current account pre-req, Virgin have the 1.75% one. Experts are opening one of these every couple of months (one or two forumites recently opened their 9th). Mind you, opening one or two of their 2% current accounts might be a good idea regardless.
Plenty of options to get a lot more than 0.7% interest for money that's being put aside for next year, with an option of getting at the money earlier if needed.0 -

I find the digipass a hassle to use - much more so than, say, nationwide's card reader. And it 'time-outs' annoyingly fast while you're trying to work out how to use it!But as I don't anticipate withdrwaing cash till I decide to close it I can cope.
