Plastering question

We’ve got our hallway ready to plaster but 2 walls will need building out about 2 inches before the final skim goes on. Can’t remember the name of it. Maybe bonding?
Will a plasterer be able to build the wall out the 2” needed and do the final top skim in a day, or does the bonding (I think?) need a certain amount of time to dry?

How big is this wall? 2" is quite a bit which could mean a lot of bags of bonding. You would need multiple coats, adding drying time between each.
Is it an external wall where insulation is beneficial. Dot-and-dabbing the 38mm insulated plasterboards on and skimming it over would be my approach.
If you screw on plasterboards they can be skimmed right away. Bonding or plasterboard adhesive need a few hours to dry before skimming, so can be done same day if you have something else to do in the middle of the day (and it's one coat of bonding).3 -

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

nobody builds walls out 2" with bonding anymore, not since the advent of dry wall adhesive and plasterboards. you wouldn't want 2" of bonding anyway...1

Thanks all, i should of said its 2 area's of less that 1m2 each, one part is above a radiator. Will see what plasterer says when he comes to look at the work
Thanks again0 -
Any chance of a photo?I guess there are options. I can't see why a piece of p'board cannot be cut to suit, and D&D'd in place and then skimmed. And I also cannot see any reason why 'bonding' cannot be built up in layers to do the same. Each layer only has to 'set' before another is applied over it. Mind you, it'll take an age to dry fully!0
