I have never not had a licensing and I and 2 of my friends have had these, we ignored them.
Ring the TV place up and check but don't use any numbers on the letter

The idea that it is fake doesn't really make much sense, because the "calls to action" all relate to known TV Licensing contact info.
The BBC says it sends 36 million enforcement letters a year, so it's not surprising if some of them go astray.That's an interesting link, i didn't know there was a website that kept track of the letters!.It just shows how silly the letters are especially the latest one "It may be on 2nd September or on another day"...1
