Hi everyone,
Nelski, it's great to see you posting, I hope your recovery continues at pace. I hope your brother stepped up to help your mum while you were in hospital.
Dumpling, I've been watching that programme as well - it makes me feel quite good about things but I know I need to have a clear out in my craft room/dining room.
We are now in the Yorkshire house, I was tired after the drive, Steve did a little bit but but he's still getting used to his new vision so I did most of it. We'll be going back on Monday morning so hopefully he'll find the driving easier in daylight.
I'm feeling very frustrated because my achilles tendon is still very sore so we won't be able to do any of the lovely walks round here, it seems to be taking forever to get better.
I was feeling very frustrated with Steve yesterday. A few weeks ago I told him I needed a new fitness watch and we researched them and decided on the most suitable one, then I left it, thinking great that's my Christmas present from him sorted. Then yesterday he said, "What would you like for Christmas?" Grr, I don't know how much clearer I could have been apart from handing him the wrapped present and saying give me that. Do I expect too much?
Have a good day.13 -
Morning, very dull day today all grey clouds but no rain in my corner. @dumpling watched an episode of Stacey Solomon the other week, really inspiring. It did motivate me to declutter a draw so will do another declutter again today I think. Going to get my knitting out and try and finish some socks as an Xmas present for my mum. She has hinted heavily for some knitted socks so may actually get some this year lol , from the slowest knitter in the world! Off to pick up a delivery from Argos today and need to get butter for my two daughters to make cakes. Have an urge to make banana bread too but may wait for them to ripen a bit more as went a bit mad shopping as DH put bananas in the big shop last night as did I without realising lol. Have a good day all and hugs to all that need one.12

One person was my rock throughout and I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that was Redruby. Not only did she check on my sanity every day (it wasn’t always marvellous I can assure you) she also sent me a perfect box of goodies including everything she knew I would love like chocolate, crisps , books and salted cashews ….nothing served has salt on in hospital so consequently is tasteless. Ironically I was low on sodium so had to have an infusion…. Hello just give me some salt it would save on the bruises.
and now you have made my eyes go all leaky too, I am so glad you are home and have all your things round you again, please take it easy though you have been through such a lot xxxx
Morning all
Been up a while but been texting the family and sorting out Christmas, I have done a lot of my shopping but am going out with dd to Brighton tomorrow to try and finish it (or get most of it done anyway) we will have lunch out too so should be a nice day.
Dry here for the moment but the sky is very dark so we might get rain later on, I have a towel wash on the go and another to go in after, the house needs some attention too so will do that between us.
Shopping to collect at lunchtime im hoping OH will go and I want to pop up and see my mum as its her Birthday today, I am hoping to have a nana nap later as I am struggling to sleep atm.
Prawn and salmon pasta for dinner tonight with a bit of red chilli in it and some cherry tomatoes thrown in at the last moment, its really tasty and a nice treat for a saturday evening, there is wine chilling too !
Have good days all and take care, and Nels my lovely take it easy ! xxx13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting us off. I am late to the party today but I wish I could say it was because I had slept in. No such luck, it was just about the worst night ever. I wanted to catch the first bus into town as I needed the Post Office for some stamps and also to post stuff to Oz.
NELS it's lovely to see you back with us at last. Baby steps for you young lady we don't want you back in hospital again. It's been a long haul for you but I have my fingers crossed that the terrorists exercises will help you.
It sounds like this weekend could be the last of the mild spell with arctic temps arriving midweek. And did I hear the s word mentioned for the north?!
After my sleepless night I feel fit for nowt today so a nap might be on the cards for this afternoon. It wasn't just me who couldn't sleep, poor Sparkle seems to be having side effects from the steroid jab and she couldn't settle either. There was a constant meowing coming up from the side of the bed. Poor little puss. I've just got some chilli out for my tea. It took some finding the freezers are so rammed. Only one pack left now so will need to make another batch later in the week. There's a bit of ironing that needs doing so I may tackle that after lunch - or I may not!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, poorly loved ones and convalescents. Take care one and all and stay safe xx

Done my shopping and back home now - and what a delight to see Nelski posting again!
Take things easy there.

Morning all
Quiet weekend planned for me. Waiting for the washing machine to finish at the moment, but no chance of getting anything out as it's raining here. Will be taking some sausage meat and puff pastry out the freezer to make some sausage rolls tomorrow for packed lunches. I always add grated cheese and chutney to mine for a kind of ploughman's roll.....Otherwise, I've got the usual housework to do and a book to read for my book club next week.
Have a good weekend
