Morning folks. It's still dark and blustery outside, not too inviting.Yesterday I had a lovely long chat on the phone with my SIL which was a great start to my day. She's experiencing the same builder problems as here, mostly down to lack of materials and time. This morning I'm doing a bit of shopping, something I wanted to do yesterday but didn't, I got caught up in relaxing and browsing. 😂 Later on I want to watch Mary Poppins on TV, I know it's not really aimed at me but it brings back happy memories of watching it with my long gone maternal grandmother who was delighted by it. This was during her first visit to Scotland after eventually being allowed to leave East Germany.Right, must start my day. My thoughts are with our missing and poorlies. Happy Saturday to all.15

Morning All
Like Gers, it's blustery out, there will be waves on the Loch this morning!
Took little one out for a walk yesterday after work so DD could tidy up the living room as her partner's Dad was going for his dinner, we had a lovely time scrunching through the leaves.
I had an early night but not sure I feel much better for it but I have quite a lot to do today including defrosting the freezer - not my favourite job but I can't open one of the drawers!
Missing those not up to posting at the moment and thinking of our poorlies, get well soon dumpling. Hope you're enjoying being at home Nelski.
Take care. XX13 -
Hello all the prodigal has returned.
Well that was a couple of months I would prefer didn’t happen but they did and now its time to find my new normal. Great to be home.
Thank you so much for every single comment and message of support. As some of you know I have pretty bad nerve problems in my hands and feet after the stroke so typing is somewhat challenging and as I only had my phone with me there was little hope of replying in a legible way. I did however read all your posts and they kept me sane, made me laugh and a few times gave me leaky eyes.
One person was my rock throughout and I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that was Redruby. Not only did she check on my sanity every day (it wasn’t always marvellous I can assure you) she also sent me a perfect box of goodies including everything she knew I would love like chocolate, crisps , books and salted cashews ….nothing served has salt on in hospital so consequently is tasteless. Ironically I was low on sodium so had to have an infusion…. Hello just give me some salt it would save on the bruises.
Anyway it struck me in the many long hours of thinking time that this daily thread is not just about what cleaning jobs are achieved, how often the bedding is washed or the DW goes on (or in my case planned but rarely executed) it’s a daily roundup for a group of friends where lifelong friendships can emerge and in my case have.
So less of the slushy stuff, food wise I had a garlic, mushroom and pancetta pasta last night with a glass of rose (another thing sadly missing in hospital) So good to be back to cooking despite having to keep it simple.
Today I will be mostly doing the exercises my terrorist instructs and then catching up with everything on my planner. Food wise I need to have a rummage in the freezer and remind myself what’s available. I’m hoping for some liver I have a craving
I had an Asda delivery for the basics and the delivery man brought it into the kitchen for me even offered to put it away….not only kind but he was hot into the bargain…must make his shift my regular slot I may be wonky but I’m not dead yet.
Have a good day all and thanks again for being you

Welcome back Nelski, I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm a long time lurker who has just started posting more regularly and missed your posts🤗
Having a lovely break, though the weather is a bit changeable, went to Boscastle yesterday, had a lovely wander around. I love being by the sea🌊
Going to Princetown today, never been before so hope it will be good☺
Have a good day🌻11 -
Good morning everyone
Aww, welcome back Nelski, you have been sorely missed I know. You are so right as well that this daily thread is so much more than a list of chores and meals.
I didn't have too bad a night's sleep and my temperature is back to normal again so that feels more comfortable. Lee and Phoebe got tested yesterday and they were ok. I am going to miss seeing my eldest daughter and the grand children though but I just want them to be safe so isolation has to be done.
Phoebe also has to stay home for the next 10 days as she isn't fully vaccinated and she was so happyshe has offered to help me do a pre Christmas sort and clean of the house which I have bitten off her hand in readiness.
Steve took some mince out yesterday so I think a chilli is on the cards for tea tonight. We have some shopping being delivered this afternoon and Argos is delivering a small shelf unit so I can store away some of my kitchen stuff. I am being very inspired by the new Stacey Solomon programme about sorting your life out.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx12 -
Morning, hugs if you need one.
Nelski so good to see you back and know that you are home, I am sure your are sensible enough not to try knocking the world over, little at a time is the way to go.
Is not properly light yet, so no idea what the day will be, at least its not raining. Off to the market this morning, just fruit and carrots today. The lack of daylight is beginning to affect me as it always does at this time of year, my aches and pains are always worse too, hey ho........
Gardener came for an hour yesterday, he will come again next Friday DB wants to put the grease bands on the fruit trees, then it will be next spring before we see his again.
No idea re tonights supper.......8 -

Morning everyone welcome back Nevski pleased your feeling better you made me chuckle with the delivery driver my grandma used to say there’s no harm in window shopping 😂 . I don’t know where the week has gone it has felt non stop after two terrible nights sleep I had a good one last night and new nothing until the little dog was putting her ice cold nose on my brow at 7 this morning I was sound and so warm and toasty never mind she has now been walked and is now snoozing herself chilly but dry I’ve had my porridge and a cuppa next door neighbour informed me last night that her daughter will be 16 tomorrow and she was letting her have a few friends round she will be in the house keeping a eye on things but to knock if the music gets to loud it will not bother us we will be sound asleep after strictly and you are only 16 once so I am off out to get a card to pop through the door for her and I need bread .Decorator has finished I am over the moon it looks lovely he has done such a good job just the kitchen to do now so I am getting him back for that when I get my new french doors put in about 2 weeks time I will be all posh for Santa coming. Then I will be pulling the purse strings very tight I would like a new kitchen in a couple of years or 3 see how the savings go have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all. Yesterday I did nothing much, made a chicken and ham pie from scraps which is languishing in the fridge for tonight, I had ready rolled puff in the freezer as well as the chicken bits and ham so they all came out to be useful. Today I'll be making pea and bacon [the cheapie packets of bacon odds and sods] soup and actually remembered to soak the peas. OH is little men'ing it up with some friends so I have all day to decide whether or not I'm going to be productive. Next week I'm going to see Nigella Lawson in Bath [masks at the ready!] so unfortunately for my purse, I ordered a new long coat since I don't actually have a coat that is presentable, only jacket type affairs which I don't think will be warm enough. But it is lovely looking. And wooly. I don't know if I'll be training it, or staying there the night since my car is still out of action and since I'm not a stay in a hostel type girl anymore, mostly due to the fact I know I snore like a train, rooms are very expensive for one night so I might just train it and hope I can get to the station for the last one back, but it's going to be tight. Tonight I have a delivery and cunningly I have ordered all the heavy stuff, like bottles of lemonade [ for Snowballs] so at least I don't have to lug them from the boot if I had gone shopping myself. Better read up on what they do now, whether it's bagged or not and be prepared for frantci unpacking while the driver watches me. How lovely of your delivery man Nelski, and how nice to window shop - made me laugh Izzy.Snoozer, good to hear he's ok, I posted just after and didn't see your post until afterwards. Gers, yes, house is sold now, makes me really appreciate being home, I was getting so knackered with clearing and dispirited even if seeing my sister was lovely, but fraught at times. Nelski, good to see you back, it must have also have been lovely to come home to comfort and relax. I am also hoping they continue with the terrorists until you don't need them. And big up to Red Ruby! Have a good day all if you can, and indulge if you can too...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12
