Nintendo Switch eShop Refunds

Hello
I'm aware that Nintendo generally don't offer refunds, but I have seen people on other, less helpful forums claim that it is possible in some circumstances.
I purchased a game on the eShop (on the console, as opposed to the webstore on a browser) and it very subtly mentioned that it was a DLC, needing the full game in order to play. Most of the marketing and the copy within the product page mentioned it as a sequel and a game, rather than a DLC.
Anyway, this item was purchased and now I've been struggling to get through to Nintendo in any capacity (their website is shocking, but that's another issue) except for e-mail where they simply are not budging against their corporate responses.
If there is anything I can do to get a refund on this item/store credit, I would love to hear it. It's insane that they're blanket refusing even though I would like to use this money to pay for something I can play, rather than a DLC of a game I don't own and cannot afford.
Thanks.
