Revolut account under review

Hi, was just wondering if anyone else has had this with revolut? I set up a revolut account, was going to use it for night outs, transfer money in to it to use for things, I also used it to keep separate from my main bank to help me budget better. I sold my house and I started selling items, mirrors, ottomans etc etc so I was using that account to accept the deposits for them. All of a sudden, £75 has been flagged up, which is fine I’m happy for them to do their checks and more than happy to send in whatever they want, but they are asking for the senders bank statements, but I can’t ask them for that? That’s really intrusive in my opinion. Not much has gone in to that account, sold a fridge, tv ottoman mirror and just other house bits etc, again I can screen shot messages from those who bought it, screen shot the sale posts but they don’t want any of that, they just want the senders bank statements and I’ve never heard of anything like that before. What I am worried is if they close my account for whatever reason will they place a marker against my name, also what can I do?

Yes, you can. They may well say no, but you can at least ask them. They can blank out any transactions for hookers, drugs or Little Mix tickets to avoid embarrassment.

     :D:D:D nice response there.......

I had to google what/who Little Mix are, lol.

But honestly, how many people would agree to send their bank statements to a stranger?

And if they do say no, you can then evidence to the bank that at least you've asked them, rather than ducking their request.
Haha yes I suppose so. I’ve asked them but they said they don’t feel comfortable…. Which is completely understandable. They are so unresponsive, been over a week and they’re making me feel like a criminal, tbh £75 is a hefty transaction so I can see why it’s been picked up haha

Absolutely, i know I wouldn’t! I am more than happy to send them every last bit of detail about me but they are not asking for anything apart from their information which is very frustrating
  • I had negative dealings with Revolut, in the end just withdrew my funds and closed the account. Wouldn't ever use them again, customer service is next to non-existent.
