I want to transfer £7000 from one card to a 0% balance transfer.
I went through the initial check with Santander and what looked like an automated reply suggested a limit of £600.
If I go through and make a full application what are the chances of getting the full £7000 limit to transfer to the Santander? Or if not, does anyone have an idea how to get the full £7000 limit on the 0% transfer card?

You won't know until you apply and are accepted in the vast majority of cases. But take what you're offered and transfer what you can.2

I recently opened a Santander 0% balance transfer card and the credit limit they gave me was the same as the one suggested in the initial check/application.
Sorry to say I think with such a big difference between £600 and £7000 it's very unlikely that you'll get what you need with them.

Banks judge your suitability for credit based on your income, previous debt behaviour, current debt etc. If you have £7000 on a BT card and have been paying the minimum for the past 12-18 months and your income / available credit / other debts / past debt history is such that they only will give you £600 then you can pay £550 or so onto the card and work on the other debt. Or try a different lender for another BT card, perhaps one that has a low interest deal rather than 0% and see if you can get that.Realistically they have to be careful to ensure you are not going to run up unaffordable debt. I would suggest using whatever savings you made over the last year or two that you had ready to pay off this £7000 in case you didn't get another card and then start creating a new savings plan. You did make a plan to pay off the debt in case you couldn't get a card to take the full remaining balance, right?0
