Do I switch energy suppliers or stay?!

I was with Igloo Energy paying £90pm for dual energy, they ceased trading, finally been moved to EON, and their tarrifs are obviously as expected higher.
Their variable is £106pm and fixed is £169pm! Do I stay on the variable they transferred me on, or look at other suppliers and switch to a cheaper fixed?
Confused with what’s right and wrong to do at the moment.

Stay on the variable. Its absolutely pointless moving, its the same everywhere else. Bear in mind those amounts are a contribution to the bill based on your predicted usage, if you use more you will pay more. Look at the unit costs and standing daily charges.
If going from a predicted £90 to a predicted £106 per month is the full extent of the damage, I cant have much sympathy I am afraid, mine went from £80 to £147.1 -
Thanks Emma. £90 to £106 on variables is fine with me, was just explaining the difference to get better advise on what to do. So you would advise to stay on a variable and not get into a fixed deal? Find it so confusing at the moment, I thought variable would go up again come April?.emmajones1976 said:Stay on the variable. Its absolutely pointless moving, its the same everywhere else. It will but it wont be going up 30% or more imo. Also you use more energy in winter than summer so fixing yourself into a price 30% higher than the cap now would be, in my opinion, stupid.1

also - you need to look at kWh units/rates and not DD to give you an accurate representation

There's nothing to stop you looking at what's available to compare the prices and choose what to do.1
