  • Valid points dunlop 2 but my daughter has now done 4 negative lateral flow tests in the last 3 days so has ordered an officially accepted home video-recorded test kit for tomorrow, so if that proves negative then they can still fly out on Tuesday (fingers and everything else crossed !!!)

If you have a positive test result they do not recommend you take another test within 90 days because even after isolation and recovery it may detect the virus in your system and give a false positive.

that refers to PCR tests....you can enter US with a negative lateral flow test

Hi Caz3121, yes I know it is referring to a PCR test.  Hence me highlighting I could take another test (antigen LF test) and if it was positive I would run the risk of having to pay for the declaration of recovery as well.

@j@janet_oggy , I hope your daughter gets a negative result.  Let us know how she gets on.  It may help me to decide what to do about my dilemma :)   Not seen my granchildren for 27 months so really itching to get over there.

  • UPDATE - so, it was good news in the end....the test on Monday came back negative so they were able to fly out yesterday morning and are now enjoying their honeymoon in the good old U.S of A  :)  :)

dunlop2..I would suggest you do the same as she did....do some lateral flow tests at home over the next few days and if they come back negative then get yourself booked in for an official test within 3 days of your flight, then hopefully grandkids here you come  ;)
