  • It was an accident not planned. I visited the abortion clinic but couldnt go through with it i think because of my job.
We would still need a bigger place anyway as me and husband havent shardd a room in over a year, and my eldest needs her own room really as shes started secondary now.
I would have been happy to share with my youngest girl, now ill just have to share with two of them.

(my partner has since had the snip)

Check if the council will accept a GP letter before paying for one.  Some don't accept them and only accept consultants/hospital letters. If you feel you are in an urgent need some councils will send a form to a medical professional to fill in.   Bear in mind though, there are people in the exact same position as yourself (mental health needs and overcrowding) and have been waiting longer.  Just because there is a medical condition doesn't automatically put you to the top of the list.
Just because I disagree with you, doesn't mean I hate you. We need to understand this as a Society

you could request an occupational therapist visit. It isn't just physical health they can assess, we had one visit from the mental health team, but not all areas have specific ones for different conditions.
  • Thank you for your input ill have a look at that, good to know.

I dont want a house like now, i just want them to be aware of his difficulties. When his MH us bad hes had previous suicide attemps, luckily last one was mid 2020 but i want to try and avoid us getting to that point again and i really think more space would help him.

    Thanks again

Would finances allow a cheap b&b or air b&b room he could go to overnight occasionally, while you wait for a bigger house?

Would give him a quiet space and you a small break as well.
  • Perhaps contact your local mental health team and tell them of your concern, they may come out and do an assessment of his risk and that letter may be more useful than the GP. I paid for a GPs letter which actually said my health would improve, which was absolutely useless to me!
