Nat West constantly blocking Credit Card

Options
Is anyone else being sent crazy by Nat West?   Six times over the past couple of weeks I've had payment failure whilst trying to buy Christmas presents with my Mastercard. Only once did I receive a text message asking me to confirm it was me making the payment, other times no contact whatsoever from them.  It's just ridiculous.

Were the payments actually blocked, or was it just that you tried to do it contactless and had to enter your PIN?  With contactless payments, it'll make you verify your PIN every so often just for security.
If the payments were being totally blocked, it's probably best to call Natwest up and ask them why - there's probably a valid/logical reason.

From my own personal experience, I have found NatWest and Lloyds to be the most aggressive 'blockers'.

If an option, suggest you get a different card from another provider

Barclays, after 6 years of paying my NW CC bill by debit card, decided to block every card payment to NW for about 12 months before then suddenly allowing them to go through again and never blocked another one.

Each time they say they don't know why it'd be triggered, that the history should mean it isnt, that they'd "change the sensitivity" but the following month would call the counter fraud line before making the payment such that by the time I'd done the payment I;d be near the front of the queue to speak to Barclays.

Yep, moved away from Natwest CC about 3 years ago, for this exact same reason.

Nearly every time attempting to use the card to pay for goods "decline". Fine for the BT intro offer, but awful to use as a payment card.

    Online or point of sale?

Are you sure it's been blocked by them and not a timeout issue at retailer?
