Viagogo tickets

Hello, I bought 2 tickets using viagogo over 18 months ago.Due to covid the concert was rescheduled until next August.
I decided to sell the tickets through viagogo as I originally purchased them through this supplier.
I received an email last week stating they had been sold.
Viagogo are now saying that I won't receive my money until 21 days after the concert date.
I really do not understand why the money I paid is not refunded back to me immediately as this is a substantial amount and I bought them in good faith from viagogo.
Please help anyone

They will keep the money in case anything happens that prevents the concert going ahead.
  • What's important is the terms of the sale, rather than the faith in which you bought the tickets.  What were the terms provided when you put your tickets up for sale with Viagogo, specifically around payment?

Terms at https://www.viagogo.co.uk/secure/help/termsandconditions seem clear to me, although not sure where 21 days would have come from:

    2.12 Seller Payment.

The Seller will be paid 5-8 working days after the event if delivery of the tickets was successful to the buyer. We have the right to withhold payment or collect repayment if the event was re-scheduled or cancelled or if We have a good faith basis to believe such sales were unlawful or otherwise made in material violation of this agreement.

Or the buyer gets refused entry as they did not buy the tickets from a official seller or they are unable to prove ID to match any name on ticket.

  • Just seems a bit frustrating as I originally purchased the tickets from viagogo. They have then sold them but I won't receive the money until next august.
They would then seemingly have two payments

What do you mean by 'then'?  They currently have two, but next August (or maybe September), they'll pass the second payment to you, leaving them with just one thereafter, which is as it should be.

Viagogo Do Not sell tickets direct (like ticketmaster etc). They are a reseller. So in effect you bought the tickets from someone else who was selling them...
