Pigeon deterrent

I've read online guidance for pigeon deterrents and wondered if anyone has experience with the sonic devices? Not wanting to scare off other birdlife or disturb dogs in the vicinity.

I can't imagine than any sonic device would be so specific as to only scare of one particular type of bird.

A falcon?
Why would you want to scare off pigeons but not other types of birds?0 -
I used a mini super soaker.Pigeons mating on the roof outside my bedroom at silly hours was driving me nuts. I used a couple of sprays which only reached a shortish distance from the birds, they looked at me dismissively but didn't come back.I've since used it on eternally fighting cats outside. It didn't go close but they haven't returned. It was fun tooCost 2.99

Sonic devices don't work, several of our warehouses have them - they're covered in bird poo.0

Every time a bird takes flight it defecates, any system that scares birds off and allows them to return and then repeats the process is only making the problem worse.0
