Theres no simple answer to this, the platform will depend on what crypto you want to be invested in and what type of risk you want to take and how much work you can be bothered to put in

I see a lot of people using blockfi on the internet for stable coins in particular, personally I can't be bothered staking new ETH when 2.0 is so near relatively speaking don't see the value in chasing in another 2% moving it around

I'm keeping it super simple, because I'm only really buying stuff I want to hold long term

Conversely you will have others using multiple DEXs for different types of crypto, farming, staking, arbitrage, hodling and all manner of other things..

    It depends who you believe.
+1 for creating a separate crypto forum

Yep this. Depends on what assets you hold, what your goal is and your risk tolerance I guess.

For the standard staking app/platforms such as Celsius, Nexo, BlockFi etc, you’ll be paid 4-10% APY for any coins you deposit. If they steal your coins, block your access, go bust etc then your coins are gone. So there’s counterparty risk but for me is negligible in these boom times. Celsius have like 4bn AUM. I’ve earned about $3k with the stash I have with them, for essentially holding spot positions that I was gonna hold anyway.

Yield farming is a whole other ball game on either CEXs or DEXs again with counterparty risk.

I think you can stake a few assets direct from hardware devices although I’ve personally not done it

Nothing elaborate just draw suckers in and create a ponzi scheme. People will always fall for the same old tricks. That's human nature when promises of riches are made.

    Doesn’t sound that elaborate tbf.

You could be “investing” in Crypto, Stocks or bits of Lego but it doesn’t matter because there was never any investment made. There’s no balance, no profit, your money was gone the second they got it.

Take it as a cheap/expensive lesson not be scammed by random websites in the future
