Password/log in on Acer Chromebook

I'm just getting to grips with a new-to-me Acer Chromebook and at present every time I open it up, I have to enter my password. Given that I'm not bothered about anybody else accessing the machine, is there a way of setting this thing up so I don't have to do that?

Lots of answers if you google "acer chromebook remove password"
Let us know if you are unable to do it.1 -
You can't totally remove password protection without having some limitations - for example you could use a guest account but then you can't add / remove any apps
Maybe use a PIN lock which is easier to type in?
Some Chromebooks can also pair with an Android phone and use "Smart lock" for easier locking / unlocking - all you need to do is unlock your phone with face or fingerprint and if it is nearby the laptop will unlock.

Regarding your last comment about "not bothered about anybody else accessing the machine" - yes in your house that might not be an issue, but if it were ever to be stolen, you will be thankful of having a password otherwise somebody will have full access to your Google account including email which may then allow them to reset password for other online accounts you may have.3 -
Yes, you do have a good point there. I think maybe I'll just put up with the password after all...
