Unused Day 2 Lateral Flow Test

Having bought two LFT from Nationwide Pathology, I am no longer able to fly tomorrow to Vienna for a short trip. However, I have another trip booked to Germany at the start of December. Do I need to buy two more LFT or will these ones I have already purchased  be valid? I could contact NWP but just out of 'wanting to make money', I think they would say that I do have to buy two more.
My thoughts are to go to Germany and try to enter these two LFT numbers into the PLF to come home, and if they don't work, just purchase two more at that time just so I can pay another £30 for two more serial numbers! Has anyone got any idea about this? Thanks

Were the LFTs purchased as Day 2 tests or are these purchased as fit to fly tests ?

If you are needing a UK day 2 test - for arriving in UK, you will need to purchase a specific test with a day2 reference number - this is because the results are uploaded by the provider to the PHE records .  If that is what you have and you haven’t registered these kits to your Vienna trip , then that are ok to use for your return from Germany .( You will just need to check the expiry date and that they are still in date )

If it’s just a fit to fly test that is required for entry to another country, then you can use them for that purpose-they are not tied to a specific trip , but can’t be used for Day 2 - unless the provider has the capacity and agrees to provide you with the unique Day 2 reference number.
  • I did have to enter my Vienna return dates and flight number. They are just ordinary Day 2 test for arrival in UK.

The 'man in the pub' assures me that the codes will work.

  • As long as you haven’t already used the codes on a PLF , it’s ok to use theseDay 2 tests for your return from Germany

If you use the code from a PCR  on a PLF back into uk but didn’t get to do the actual 2 day test . Can you reuse the PCR on a different flight ?

Personally I wouldnt risk that as you already used the code, would take a fair bit of explaining if pulled up for it.

I've done that. I was never asked at the UK border but if I had I would know I'd done nothing wrong and would be prepared to answer any questions should they arise.

You can. It’s accepted that many people have had last minute arrangement cancelled and tests legitimately unused.

  • GOOD NEWS: NATIONWIDE PATHOLOGY ANSWERED MY EMAIL AND SAID THAT AS LONG AS WE HAVE NOT USED THE CODE ON THE PASSENGER LOCATION FORM, WE CAN USE THE DAY 2 TEST FOR A DIFFERENT TRIP. WE JUST NEED TO LET THEM KNOW THE NEW DATES. VERY PLEASED

Hoi, were you going to the game on Thursday by any chance?
Sorry to jump your thread but does anyone know where i stand on getting my money back or even vouchers so i can use them for the next round because even though 'tourists' are not allowed to travel to Austria it seems that Ryanair are not cancelling the flight or anything, in fact i'm still getting pre travel advice emails.
It seems that RA could well just run the flight near empty just so they can say they didn't cancel it?
Oh i booked through my debit card.
    Thanks
    Darren
