O/S Daily Saturday 13 November 2021

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Still dark, dry under foot but rain a possibility later.

DH up and watching catcup tv, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and a cheeky croissant - I am on leave! That's my excuse.  DS1 still in his pit.  DS2 settled and happy.

Dinner last night was breaded chicken, chips and beans for the menfolk, I had fishcakes and veg.

Yesterday I had a nice day and got done most of what I wanted, just packing left to get done.

Morning all .

Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.

DD2 took me to get my haircut yesterday, I got up at 4 am to turn the immersion heater on so I could have a shower, I used all the hot water and by the time I was rinsing my hair the water was stone cold.

I'm happy with the cut and we collected Steve's prescription as well which saves him a bus journey.

Morning folks. 

Yesterday I didn't go to Oban so I'm heading up there very soon. The rain was so heavy with driving wind I just stayed indoors. Today it looks 'better'. 😀

We had a lively day yesterday with dgs, I wish I had his energy!  and I went to a friends' house last night.

Not much happening today, but I didn't have much sleep last night, so I'm quite pleased that not much is planned.

Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of our poorly people and those struggling with life.

Morning All

Bright and dry out this morning, looks like it could be a good day. There is washing in the machine, I think I'll probably hang it out although I'mnot sure it will dry if the sun doesn't put in an appearance. I've been short of face masks so have been through all my bags and coat pockets and found most of them, they are all in the wash.

Dishwasher is earning it's keep, all the glasses and crockery are having a wash while I clean the cupboards, so far there are 7 wine glasses I don't use, a tankard, 2 'gift' glasses (I don't use them as they don't go through the DW!) and various other bits to go the the CS.

Swimming is cancelled this morning, my friend has a sore throat and I don't like to go on my own. I have a bit of a sore arm too as I had my flu jag last night, didn't have the Covid booster as it hasn't been 22 weeks since the 2nd dose. I'm glad really as I didn't want the 2 at the same time.

Nothing really planned for today but there's loads of cleaning and tidying to do along with sorting the christmas gifts so I should stay busy.

Morning all,

I don’t think I’ve posted for a few days, as nothing exciting has happened here!  If I can have a day of not being ill that is good but not of interest to anyone, lol.

Plans for today, I will try and visit parents and sister.  Then it is a day indoors, I do have a lot of decluttering to do, I just wish to thin out ‘stuff’.  I don’t know why I’ve kept my brownie badges especially as I didn’t even enjoy brownies, brown owl was scary!

Morning everyone it’s dry here but tats about the best it’s going to be dog has been walked going to do some batch cooking makes life a bit easier through the week going for our boosters tomorrow afternoon so not much will be done then decorator has finished upstairs I got a very pale taupe for one off the bedrooms to match the wallpaper it turned out a dusky pink looks nothing like the colour on the tin but I like it makes the room look lovely and warm it all looks lovely and clean he is starting the stairs on Monday and working his way through the downstairs I am very impressed with his work and he is very clean and tidy people like him are gems have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Eldest and grandson are arriving for an overnight stay.  It will be lovely to see them and have some company.  Hope to get a takeaway this evening as the cancer makes me so tired.

Morning all

Dry here for the moment but overcast it says its not going to rain so hopefully I can hang the towels out for a while.

OH gone to the boot sale so its all quiet here for now I am just having a cuppa and will then get my saturday treat of toast and marmite 

Burger in a bun with chips tonight, I got some stilton so we can have some of that on the burger with some gherkins, I will peel the spuds this morning so nothing much to do later.

Need to have a good clean round this morning and OH will go and collect the shopping at lunch time.

I heard from work yesterday and they have offered me a fair wage so I have the weekend to think about it, but I have decided to go for the job while I look around for something else, at least I will be able to pay my bills !

Hello all, it's a bit overcast but very windy so I have put a clothes load in the wm, I'll put them out for a blow when they are ready. I'll have to frisk them before I bring them in though as the last leaves are falling thick and fast.

DGD enjoyed the garden centre displays but she had to look at everything, especially if it sparkled ! We were too early for lunch so we decided to have a drink and cake and stood in the queue, 15 mins later we were still there and no further forward so we gave up and headed home via the chip shop. Lack of teeth didn't deter DGD and she demolished most of a large portion of cheesy chips and half my fish, quickly followed by a bowl of fresh berries and ice cream, that lot would have kept me going for a week and yet she's still stick thin !! DGS and SiL picked her up later and I noticed that DGS is now about 6ins taller than me, goodness knows how tall he will end up as he's only just turned 12. Methinks he could be useful getting down my high baking stuff though 😉 That'll save me getting out the step stool anyway 😁

DD is coming over to use my wm later as hers broke down last night mid wash, wonder how much I should charge ? 🤣

Good morning 

Dry at the moment but looks like rain 🌧

It's my youngest daughters birthday today, so I've phoned her ti wish her a Happy birthday 🎂 

Going shopping with my oldest daughter later to see if I can find her something for Christmas 🎄 then will wrap a few presents 🎁 that I need to take with me when we go away for a few days next week.

Later I will start glossing the bedroom, my least favourite job, give me emulsion any day😁
