Ah right, I assumed your comment was relevant to this thread about Halifax, but apparently not....swanfan02 said:

But did Halifax explicitly consent to this (in order to satisfy the Ts & Cs) or are you just assuming that it's OK because you've got away with it so far?swanfan02 said:
Very true as it happens, I’ve used ordinary current accounts while being a sole trader for a number of years.Daliah said:
A one-man Decorator & Painter band told me the other day that Halifax have told him that it's ok to use his personal current account for his business. He takes around £60K a year in payments from clients, all by bank transfer. I don't know how true this is.EarthBoy said:
I can't imagine them giving consent unless, perhaps, it's a very small business with only small amounts of money going through the account.jonesey1985 said:
To be fair Halifax do say "Without our consent" in regards to business use, rather than forbidding it outright.mab3000 said:You cannot use the current account switch service to switch a business current account to a personal current account, the switch has more than likely failed.
Also It would be against Halifax’s terms and conditions to use a personal account for business use.0 -
But it is no longer, I assume, a business account?IAMIAM said:Well it worked. I am transferring my starling business account to Halifax reward account and got the £125 today. So what a waste of a thread.
So if you use it as one you're breaking the terms of the account.
Not a waste of a thread at all (though you do tend to create a lot of them - this is at least the third asking about business - personal accounts!) - but an interesting demonstration of how things can work.
But the key issue, surely, is that you now no longer have a business account.
Which may now create problems.0 -
