Decent kitchen taps

Can anybody recommend a decent brand of kitchen tap that doesn't cost a fortune please? Fed up with B&Q taps, blinking things have started dripping again, replacement cartridges are hard to come by. We plan on replacing the sink next year but don't think the tap will last that long, so need something that will be robust enough to be able to be used again with the replacement sink.

Also we have a separate small bore drinking water tap as we have a water softener. That's leaking too so we need another one of those.

TIA

I put a pair of Perrin and Rowe bib taps in our kitchen about 20 years ago, and they are still working well.
  • Our Grohe are still going strong after 18 or so years.

I’m a fan of Bristan Easyfit. They are significantly easier to fit than other taps, and they come with a separate base and tap part. This makes replacing the tap part a two minute job.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • Has a kitchen 3 way tap been considered ? Plenty around. £250 target price. carron phoenix sift are ok. Grohe products are generally very good.

Above average quality taps cost a lot more, nowadays its often difficult recommending taps Some cheaper well known marques are generic  chinese  imports  :'(

German taps made in europe are good but need to be suitable for the various Uk water peculiarities  o:)

Taps use to be so simple  :)

I've a Franke Pro Top lever mixer in my kitchen which I've had for a number of years, it's really well made but that too has needed a new cartridge in the past. I recently replaced a similar styled one in my Dad's kitchen that I got from Screwfix for around £25 and was pleasantly surprised as it's really good quality.

I think it was this one - https://www.screwfix.com/p/swirl-loop-single-lever-mono-mixer-kitchen-tap-chrome/82576

B&Q / Screwfix taps are rubbish and I had to start declining to fit them for customers as I kept having to go and fix them. Franke used to be good but the quality no longer reflects the price they charge. I've fitted lots of Deva / Methven ones that have long guarantees and excellent customer service in the rare event that new valves are required under warranty. They do seem to have introduced a new range which is priced around the £40 mark at Toolstation - I've no experience with these but they seem a bit too good to be true - The Deva Puffin at £40 was good but it looks like TS have stopped stocking it.
Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.
