Personal Information for Job Interview?

How much Information is too much just to have an Interview?
In order to attend my recent NHS job interview i have been told to upload the following: Proof of the last ten years of full time work, All details of Bank accounts you own including bonds and credit cards etc, Proof of Address for the last ten since birth, Full vaccination status, Driving License/Passport and NI number and NHS number if applicable, 2 employment referees and one character.
Is it me or is this excessive, i was reading the other day how some managers inside Santander were stealing peoples personal information and i can't help think what a field day a scammer would have with these details if they got into the wrong hands.
I used to remember handing over less information than this when starting a job in the past but times are changing, when i asked customer service about this they told me i am one of only 143 candidates for the role and so the information is stored in a cloud system, this does not reassure me but i have a feeling this might become standard for most jobs.

It’s been many years since I had to do interviews but there is no way on earth I would provide that information. I would have it ready if I was called for an interview with possibly some information covered.0

I can understand a current account to pay your salary into but bonds or shares and things are nothing to do with them, i applied for hundreds of jobs while unemployed but doing this under these circumstances would be very risky.MoodyMand45 said:How much Information is too much just to have an Interview?

Way into the "beyond belief excessive" realm.MoodyMand45 said:How much Information is too much just to have an Interview?

Please name the trust or other NHS establishment requesting such information.2 -
I would not hand over banking details or information about passport, driving licence etc at this stage. The whole thing screams SCAM, even if it isn't. Asking for bank account details etc to be brought to interview would be different. I don't see how information about bonds, credit cards etc is anything to do with them at any stage of the process.

I'm a retired NHS manager and I'd also like to know which NHS trust this is.
If I were you I'd telephone their HR dept and ask why they need all that stuff. They only need details of your current bank account to pay your salary - they don't need to see any statements and they certainly don't need to know anything at all about any other accounts, savings, bonds etc and any cards you have.
Unless this is for some sort of disclosure/CRB check (are you sure it isn't?) I don't see what business of their's it is where you've lived previously - so long as you can prove right to work or whatever it's currently called.
I'd be interested to know what their response is, if you could let us know.1 -
Not sure what the above is meant to be.MoodyMand45 said:
Proof of Address for the last ten since birth
It is a lot of information but most is fairly standard in the world of financial services:
6 years of address and employment history is the norm, plus explanations and evidence of any gaps over 1 month in length inc how you funded it
Bank accounts, credit cards etc are not directly asked for but a credit check is the norm and this will reveal this information to them anyway (at least for any UK based ones anyway). Uncontrolled debt may represent a fraud risk
Bonds and Shares can be asked about but does vary on if there is a minimum holding or such that they ask about... this is to identify any potential conflicts of interest.
Vaccination status - isnt it a legal requirement now for front line NHS?
Passport etc - normal right to work/ID stuff
NI Number - obv required for tax
NHS number - only odd one in my mind but I wonder if they are looking for evidence of any issues of defrauding the NHS etc? No idea if any communicable diseases have to be declared by front line staff... vaguely remember the debates about HIV back in the 90s.
References - surprising how few, for us all the employers listed in the 6 years must give a reference.1 -
This. Sorry but I don't remotely believe the NHS asked for details of got bonds and credit cards unless hippy are applying for a highly specialised and mega senior role. The rest, well that's perfectly reasonable. But if you don't want to provide it, you don't have to. Just don't apply for a job.General_Grant said:

Odd. Definitely an NHS trust? Can appreciate though they may all work differently.MoodyMand45 said:How much Information is too much just to have an Interview?

Is it me or is this excessive,
As someone successful for an NHS role (fixed term) and refrained giving permission for references before interview, my bank details were one of the last things asked for. And only once background checks were deemed completed and a move toward start date issued. Certainly do not recall having to answer credit cards and bonds. The only dodgy thing to happen there was a uniform order form I shouldn't have received and I did note one trust literally put 5 yrs out of date salary information on another job listing, so mistakes can happen.
I'm not sure you should name the trust in accordance with MSE rules. (making yourself identifiable)1 -
Are you sure you are liaising with the NHS and not a fraud/scam interview. For an interview you don’t need those items, yes passport, drivers licence and proof of address for ID checks maybe but not bank account info for all accounts you hold.2
