EON Smart Gas meter, previous reading reset to 0
Hi,
I just had my bill from EON and there is a problem with the Gas bill. They have used 0 as my previous reading instead of the real previous reading. This means the difference between my current reading and my previous reading is higher than it should be. So instead of calculating my usage as "current reading - previous reading" it has been calculated as "current reading - 0". Has anyone had this issue and if so, was it straight forward to resolve? I'll need to call them but just wondered if other people are in the same boat as me which I can then mention to them.

Have they cancelled the previous bill and recalculated the bill from the start?0

What about the previous bill you received from Eon? The present read on it must be the same as the current read on the latest bill. That is unless you have had a new meter installed.0

Thanks for your replies. I was expecting some awkwardness/hassle in getting this looked at. The chat agent I had was talking about getting an engineer out. I called them today and was told it was human error when they entered the previous read. Not sure this is true as I wouldn't expect someone at EON sitting down and manually entering previous reads for all their customers! So if anyone else is getting this, it needs a call for them to adjust the bill. Chat agents can't do anything to help.1
