Parking at Luton airport
I've got to drop someone off at Luton airport next week and have heard it can be a bit of a PITA getting in and out, not to mention not free, someone mentioned it might be easier to drop off at the nearest train station so they can get the airport bus. Any recent experiences of drop off/pick ups at Luton and what do you recommend will be easier.
Also I'll be travelling down from Peterborough so not sure whether it's better to go A1 then M1 (via A421 Bedford) or all the way down on the A1 (A1M) to Hitchin.

Dropped off there a few times and its fine, as long as they get out and get their bags out the boot and go.
No airport of a decent size now offers a free drop-off outside the doors anyway (bar Cardiff).0 -

I used the drop off area last week, no queues and easy to use, but of course depends on flight times. At £5 it is expensive but it's convenient. I wouldn't use the Parkway Station, the free drop off in the Mid Stay would be my preference if you want a free option.
As for the roads, who knows, check the traffic before you leave.1 -
The Luton drop off area is a breeze, straight in and out but does cost £51

What about pick-ups, would you advise using the long term CP and shuttle bus?0

Pick up is the same place as drop off, its not like Heathrow/Manchester (T1 and T2) where the arrivals and departures are in seperate places/levels.
Park up at the nearby retail park on Gipsy Lane and get the person being picked up to tell you when his bags are coming off the belt.3 -
