O/S Daily Thursday 11 November 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, dry under foot but rain a possibility later.
DH and DS1 up and getting ready for work, I'm showered and dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/rice/veg. Not sure what we're having tonight - will organize whilst out this morning.
Pleased to now be on leave and have some relaxation time, I'm going to spend today doing housework, washing and ironing and packing so if there's anything we need I can get that tomorrow.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, you're up early to say you're on leave!
Dry start to the morning, hope it stays that way but not holding my breath. Seems colder this morning.
Not much to report, have started the kitchen cupboards but not put anything out yet - there's time.
So many of you with sadness in your hearts, hope you can all get the help you need.
Glad you have something sorted Ruby, not ideal but fingers crossed something comes up soon.
Thinking of the poorlies and those not posting at the moment for whatever reason, hugs to you.
Take care. XX12 -
Morning all
Dry here and no frost the sky is a really funny colour almost as if there is an eclipse - very odd !
Off to work today I had to sit apart from the strange manager yesterday he had not told anyone that his dd had covidand I have been sat next to him all week, they asked me to sit away from him and he had to wear a mask (as we all do) and a face shield on top of that, he was not happy but better to be safe than sorry ! <y other nice work friend should be in today and its much nicer when she is in as at least we can chat.
Filled pasta with salad and garlic bread tonight for dinner so nice and easy, my mum cooked us liver and bacon last night which was delicious.
I fell asleep on the sofa last night just after 8, went up to bed and 9 and slept right through apart from a comfort break, so feel much more rested today.
DW to empty this morning and a quick tidy of the lounge before I go to work.
Have good days all xxx

Had booster on Monday and tbh have felt a bit wiped out since and a very heavy arm DH on nights last night came in this morning and started snoring so gave up and got up to start work
Ddad is being moved yet again today now to a care home before hopefully home next week hospital desperate for beds
Work still challenging will not know what is happening re our jobs until next month but hopefully we will hear something before Christmas
Here's hoping life gets a bit better for all of us soon a few family members struggling at the moment and it is getting harder to be the upbeat one all the time
Have a good day all take care
Big hugs

Morning folks.Another beautiful cloudless sky this morning, it's such a treat even though it means a chilly day ahead.Yesterday I did a tip run. I haven't seen a bin lorry go past my place since I got back home but I've always just taken my rubbish myself anyway. Later on I did a load more scanning and sorting out of stuff. Just when I've managed to clear the decks the postie brings more, I really try to be paperless in my financial business but some building societys still send out piles of paper. In the afternoon I lit the wood burner and toasted myself for a while while listening to an audio book. When I read here of others doing so much each day I feel slightly ashamed until I remember the past six months have been for me, that lets me relax again. Meds are probably starting to seep through me and having uninterrupted sleep is certainly great. My thoughts are with our all poorlies. Happy Thursday to all.14

Morning...Took the car for a look see, apparently a bearing has gone on a tensioner and so I must wait for a part which may be difficult or `tardy to get hold of...No driving for me for a while, I just don't trust the car. It was nice to have a catch up and I did end up making cheese straws, none left today obviously...I'll take some mince out of the freezer in a bit, I have a hankering for cottage pie..Plus I have all the ingredients and the veg to go with it so that means running down the stocks too, which is good.I ended up putting up the curtain track and putting one of the nice curtains on, because I thought, burger it, life is too short for horrible curtains...Unfortunately, it's a tiny bit gappy at the sides, so where I was going to use the other one into the kitchen, that one will now join it's pair. Amazing how much of a difference it's making already.Today it's a walk to the local hardware-ish type shop for some extra curtain hooks for the tracks, I have plenty of the little curly ones... I booked a tip run in anticipation of having a car next week, I may have to cancel, but in the meantime, things are piling up in the porch to go and I'm hoping to add more to that today. And clean this keyboard, it's minging.Nanny, I laughed at your frog stone...Take care of yourselves if you can and always be nice to yourselves....You deserve you....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13

Morning all and thanks NMLC. It's another mild start and the sun is shining.
After my outpouring yesterday I am feeling much more positive this morning. A couple of PM's put things into perspective for me, followed by a long heart to heart with best buddy. She managed to assure me that the way I am feeling is normal amongst lots of bereaved, her own mum being an example. And, as others on here have said, Covid has changed the lives of most of us, without coping with a bereavement at the same time.
So today is another day and I feel (almost!) ready to tackle the world!! All the jobs that have been on the back burner for long enough WILL get started today! One step at a time!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care all x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Hello all, another damp day here, I'm getting fed up of saying that.I had a productive day yesterday as I managed to pay my energy bill online and we heard from the engineer who, along with the "expert" he brought in, has finally realised what the problem is. We should have been moved with the rest of the street over to the new box in the next road down but wasn't. We now await a move over at some point.I had a lovely time with DD and DGD at the stables but DGD wasn't amused as the teacher was a different one, so she didn't enjoy the lesson. My feet were freezing at the end but a cup of hot choc in C*sta later went down a treat.I didn't sleep well last night as I'd had a run in with Dad on the phone and I'm sad to say I lost my temper, I normally very placid with him but something just snapped. He's got himself in a pickle with his repeat script, which seems to be everyone's fault except his and wouldn't listen when I tried to help him. Probably be round 2 today when I call him later 😞 I'm not looking forward to any more confrontation with anyone.I have a sm delivery at lunchtime so I need to clean out the fridge this morning and I may have to play freezer tetris too. Only 3 subs this time and no OOS so that's good. I shall be playing shop this afternoon as most of my shopping is for my top up stores 😁. I need to be ready should we get snowed in.There is also a delivery of a xmas present for DGS to come sometime today.taff sorry about your car. Hope it can be fixed asap.TA I'm glad you are feeling more you. 🧡Sending all my love and hugs to those in need and healing vibes to the poorly ones, their family members and animals.Take care all, stay safe.nan xx

Good afternoon
Was awake half the night then fell asleep 😴 just as it was getting light so running late today.
It's dry but feels damp, I stripped the bed when I got up and put the bedding in the WM then went for a nice long walk to clear the cobwebs away, 6.5 miles😅
I'm afraid the bedding will have to go in the TD, I don't mind drying clothes on an airer but king-size bedding is a bit much.
Going to wipe down the woodwork in the bedroom later ready for undercoating.
Have a good day🌻8
