Sound Card Help???? disappeared

Hi guys daughter has a dell dimension 3100.... plays loads of music... limewire, bebo and all that rubbish....

when she goes into windows player comes up as an error.. gone thru all help pages and into device manager seems that there is no audio installed anymore...

proof of this is when you go into the sound settings on pc or volume does not allow you to go in so obviously it aint there...

Any ideas ?????

where is the sound card situated? near the input for speakers or?


is this a common thing to happen?

try going to the dell website and downloading the driver for your laptop from the support section of their website

on the 10th dec i see removed soundmax

i have reboot it..... restored but soundmax not showing anywhere in devices??

do i need to find the drivers etc...... it says installing new hardware but finds none??
