Drayton mi Genie t724r controller stuck on initialising

Options
Hi, my boiler, heating and hot water system was working ok until this evening when I have found that the above controller is stuck on initialising- is there anyway to move it beyond this?
Failing that would a Drayton LP822 25464 Universal Electronic programmer be an equivalent replacement? Is this something I could do myself?

  • I guess you've tried turning the power off for at least 10 minutes and repowering?
Was the wiring altered at all - was the backplate replaced?
I don't suppose the room stat unit needs a battery in it so it communicates to get the t724r over its initialisation stage?

Yes, just about any programmer will fit on the same backplate, but the LP822 would surely be a huge step backwards? The Mi Genie also has a wireless connection with its room stat, whereas the LP822 uses cables, so you'd likely have to change that too.
Email/phone Drayton, and see what they say - there's a chance it's faulty, of course.
