Uswitch Making Claim??????

I followed Uswitch advice and changed to an energy supplier that collapsed/ceased trading.
How responsible legally are Uswitch for the advice they gave me?
Can I make some form of claim against them if I am put on a tariff that is higher than the
Rate I would have been on if the company they advised me to change to had not ceased trading?
Can I make any kind of claim against them???

You have more chance of winning the lottery without buying a ticket.

Do you think they gave you any advice about the creditworthiness of the supplier?1

They don’t advise you to change. You plug the figures in, they give the different tariffs, you choose which one to go with.
Whatever happened to personal responsibility and doing your own research? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.4 -
I have a small amount sympathy for the OP. In the middle of the Uswitch front page they boast in big letters:
Why choose Uswitch? Expert advice. So perhaps we could forgive the OP for thinking they give advice.
But buried in small print at the back in terms and conditions:By providing our service we are not giving you any investment, financial or other advice
Not perhaps the best example of transparency in a website

The full home page says:Expert advice
You want to make the right decision. Our customer care team is here to help seven days a week.
The "Terms and Conditions" are more explicitly "Uswitch Website Terms of Use"... so arguably the website doesnt give advice but the customer care team do (and arent covered by the terms of use)

How would uswitch, or anybody else, know in advance that energy companies were going to go into dire straits and some collapse.0

Just because somebody is giving you advice within their area of expertise doesn't mean they need to add a bunch of disclaimers listing the things they're not giving you advice about.0 -
