Please can you help - I have absolutely loads of Mens / Women clothes / Shoes to sell  -  any advise of setting up a free selling website .

I thought its a brilliant way of recycling clothes and being that more sustainable and earning some cash in the mean time

thank you

How big is your budget to advertise your new website?  Without a decent budget nobody will ever find it.

Loads of websites already running where you can sell your stuff for free or a fee.  If you want customers then
its probably going to cost something.

I agree with forgotmyname, setting up a new website or ap from scratch is going to be expensive , you are probably talking about 5 figures just to get off the ground and get some basic advertising. Surely it would be easier to use Facebook marketplace (you can even start a selling page for free) or one of the many aps like SHpock .

Or go to a boot sale.  Or use a second hand shop that might take a percentage.  (assuming the clothes are designer and you live someplace these shops are popular.)

Yep eBay, Gumtree or car boot sale, there are also companies out there that buy clothes by weight, maybe see if there are any near where you live, there are also a lot of ‘Retro’ shops out there that might be interested in buying some of your stuff to sell on theirselves, obviously it depends on the quality and condition of the stuff you are selling.
You can always open an ebay account to gauge the prices you might receive for your stuff, you can either sell at a fixed price or at auction, eBay charge about 13% (well they do on my stuff), a lot of weekends they let you sell for less commission if you sell by Mon evening.
Other than that there are plenty of charities that will take your stuff off your hands.

(Just to point out, this thread is from November last year and the OP hasn't been back since the day they posted.  Of course the info may still be useful for others wondering where/how to sell clothes, just don't expect a response from the OP!)

Just another point, if you sell during a FVF offer you only have to list during the offer, you have 30 days to sell.

I believe Soolin made a point in another thread regarding selling used clothes on ebay in that it can be hardwork . ie people cant size themselves

Would be interesting to hear more from used clothes sellers
