Hi needing some advice if possible? I’m one of the many that have been changed to Octopus from Avro. Octopus advised -do not stop your Avro Direct Debit so I didn’t. I have just checked my bank account this morning and both Avro and Octopus have taken my £142 DD! Can anyone advise what I can do please? I have now stopped my Avro DD - (wish I had done previously!) I have emailed Octopus but I am unable to contact Avro via their website. Help!

Did you manually set up a new DD with Octopus?strathdene said:

This seems to be happening to a lot of people, I cancelled my DD to Avro shortly after they went bust as I had a feeling something like this would happen, as you have now cancelled your DD to Avro you will now only have one payment collected each month by octopus, any payments that Avro have taken will be transferred over to your octopus eventually but I'm afraid you could be waiting a while, in the meantime just sit tight and it will all sort itself outstrathdene said:Hi needing some advice if possible? Hi, just spotted this old post and wondered if those in the know can help, I have finally had a bill from Octopus saying we owe £880 since Avro went bust *we had an unfortunate timing of moving home just as Avro were no more so we've not had any direct debits set for either energy company!* I am not getting any response from Octopus about setting up a repayment plan and can't find anywhere to set up a direct debit myself. Really confused anyone had any joy getting their account direct debit set up?0

It can take a couple of days or so to get a reply from CS to an email, so I'd phone if that is an option for you..?If your online account is set up you should be able to create a DD from there though...Re the payment plan, Octopus are generally very reasonable about that sort of thing, but this bill shouldn't really be a surprise though so it isn't unreasonable to have expected you to put money aside for this...0
